Our school encourages its students to give of their best in many areas, including the academic. In our efforts to support and motivate students the school has formed links with UCC and is grateful to the university for the various supports it gives our students.
Examples of how UCC supports our students include; providing a supervised homework club for junior students; trips and visits to the university and its facilities; the provision of free supplementary tutoring for exam classes; the giving of student achievement awards (pictured on the home page slides are this year’s recipients from second-year); involvement in the TRIZ programme, the final of which, our fifth-years recently qualified for.
Both the school and UCC emphasise to our students that access and progression to university and third-level is a realistic ambition and goal for our students, whether that is to UCC, CIT or through any of the further education colleges that provide links to third-level institutions.
The school also has a number of other links with various groups and organisations so as to promote progression and student achievement.
