This year DramaFest begins on Monday March 7th and concludes on the evening of Sunday March 13th. There will be three matinee performances in total (one which will be performed in Regina Mundi School on Monday 7th and two which will happen in Deerpark CBS on Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th March).
In total there will be four evening performances (Monday 7th, Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th – all three to be performed Deerpark CBS, and one Childline performance to be held in the Maple Room of the Rochestown Park Hotel on Sunday March 13th).
Huge credit must go to director Bill O’Sullivan who has worked tirelessly since the start of the year to make the event happen. Bill, a retired Deerpark CBS teacher, deserves huge credit and admiration for the hours of work that he voluntarily puts in to the production of the plays.
There are two major school performances planned: Joseph Conrad’s Lord Jim and Othello by William Shakespeare. In addition, there will be talent competitions, a concert and a minor performance of Robert Louis Stephenson’s Treasure Island!
Tickets may be purchased at the door and the event is kindly sponsored by the UCC Plus+ scheme, Cork City Partnership, Cork City Council and local councillors, Mick Finn, Fiona Kerins and Fergal Dennehy.
